Bio:

Chris LaShomb, an avid musky fisherman and outdoor enthusiast, is the host of his own television series on PBS called Xpedition Outdoors.

Chris grew up on a tributary of the mighty St. Lawrence River in Northern New York. As a youngster he found fishing for smallmouth, walleye, and northern pike to be a passion of his. After catching his first musky he instantly began developing “musky fever” and now primarily targets the elusive muskellunge. Today, Chris specializes and guides wilderness fishing expeditions for musky in the many small river systems near his hometown. Musky fishing in general is challenging but fishing from small watercrafts, such as canoes, kayaks, and small boats, adds another level of difficulty and is physically demanding on the angler. Chris has many years of experience and countless hours on small river systems and is constantly adding new techniques and adjusting his well-rounded skill set to catch more muskies each season.

Chris is a big advocate of Catch-Photo-Release (CPR) of all sport fish, and he utilizes social media to advance the rapidly growing sport of musky fishing. He created the Facebook site “Wilderness Musky” to connect with other avid musky hunters that target musky in similar river systems throughout the country and Canada. The page is now the most active musky fishing page on Facebook and encourages proper handling and CPR.

When Chris is not on the water chasing muskies he is traveling throughout New York State and parts of Canada filming his television show Xpedition Outdoors, which came to light because of his love of nature, fishing, and outdoor adventures.
